Hello members! Did you know that YOU are the center of our chapter? Without you, we wouldn't exist. So thank you for being part of Sigma Theta Tau, Iota Nu Chapter.
Thanks to everyone who attended and supported our 25th Anniversary Celebration in April 2013.
We were recognized the Smith County Medical Society Alliance members, Carolyn Bain, Lillie McNeel, Lynn Short, and Margie Phillips, who accepted the "Friends of Nursing Award" from our chapter. The Alliance has been instrumental in supporting nursing through scholarships from proceeds of their book fairs and Carolyn Bain, charter
member, was part of that group.
Iota Nu Chapter is offering its members 2 research awards at $500 each semester (total of $2000)
Deadline: March first Monday (spring) Funding period:May (Spring awards)
Contact the chair of the Research Committee, Dr. Gloria Duke for any questions at firstname.lastname@example.org

The board is meeting monthly and will be determining actions based on our Member survey Fall 13 and the Strategic Planning work the board did last fall. Thank you for your participation in the survey! The results of the survey and action plans will be a major focus for the Spring Newsletter.
One of our immediate goals is to grow our chapter by becoming an at large chapter. We have been collaborating with East Texas Baptist University over the past few years. In 30 days, Iota Nu Chapter members will be emailed an electronic ballot in order to vote to amend the charter to add ETBU and become an at large chapter.
Hope to see you at our events this year!
